| A wonderful location for both summer and winter holidays.
For skiiers Salzbugerland has 2200km of pistes which can be accessed with a special pass. There are also hundreds of cross country tracks and lots of activities for non-skiers in real villages - no purpose built concrete monstrosities here! In summer the climate is mild (23-25C in July/August) and there truly is something for everyone. Walking, climbing, watersports, golf and mountainbiking for the active. Historic Salzburg and wondrous sightseeing in the Alps for those who prefer to watch than do. Children are extremely well catered for so family holidays are ideal. There is a compact ski resort in Lofer which prides itself on being family friendly and it has excellent ski schools. There are lots of other winter activities available - floodlit sledging, skating, cross country skiing, climbing plus spa facilities to unwind. In summer the village has a fabulous outdoor pool area with sunbathing, fresh water stream, flumes, volleyball and play park.
