| Paphos District is one of the six districts of Cyprus and it is situated in the western part of Cyprus.
The village of Tala is found in the district of Pafos (Paphos) at a distance of 8 kilometers north of the city of Pafos (Paphos) within a magical natural environment. The panoramic views combine sea and mountains, and it offers an amazing climate. The village is built at an average altitude of 280 meters. Tala receives an average annual rainfall of about 520 millimeters; grapevines (wine-making and table grape varieties), citrus fruits (orange trees, lemon trees), olive, almond, and walnut trees, cereals, forage plants, vegetables, and banana trees are cultivated in the region. Its name is considered to originate from the era of Frank domination, from the surname of a large and wealthy family, that of the D’Avila family. This family is mentioned as “Tavila” by the Cypriot mediaeval chronographers. It is believed that the surname Tavila gave the village its name. Tala Village Square is a 3 min drive away from Dizzy Heights and has a wonderful selection of Cypriot Tavernas and Restaurants, providing excellent cuisine and entertainment such as traditional Cypriot dancing, plus excellent British owned Restaurants and Bistros. All are highly recommended for their food, hospitality and entertainment. In the Village Square you will also find a church and small shops, and the panoramic views of the surrounding area and the Mediterranean Sea are quite beautiful, both day and night. All the Restaurants, Tavernas and Bistros are regularly frequented by Cypriots and visitors, and are all firm favourites of the many British residents. A short walk will take you to a wonderul Cypriot restaurant, which has an excellent varied menu and provides a superb Traditional British Sunday Lunch. A 10 min walk will take you to the perfect Italian restaurant, also well recommended. A 2 min walk will take you to a small supermarket and several other outlets. Tala is perfectly situated in the Pafos (Paphos) district as it is central to everywhere and everything, to suit everyone at every age. Dizzy Heights has ample towels, T-towels & bed linen, coathangers, an ironing board, 2 irons, a hairdryer & hair tongs, & everything else that you will need. Smoking is only permitted on the patio. A short walk will take you to a Cypriot Restaurant, with an excellent menu including a superb Traditional British Sunday Lunch (booking a must). A little further will take you to an Italian restaurant, also well recommended (again pre-booking a must). A short drive away is the Tala Village Square, with a wonderful selection of Cypriot Tavernas & Restaurants, providing excellent cuisine & entertainment such as traditional Cypriot dancing, plus excellent British owned Restaurants & Bistros. All are highly recommended for their food, hospitality & entertainment. A 10/15 min drive will take you to the beaches & tourist areas of Coral Bay or Paphos. So many wonderful walks & places of historical interest are just a short distance away. |
