| The Area Surrounding Our Cottages In Brittany.
Brittany has the longest coastline in France and therefore there are miles of unspoilt sandy beaches. A coastal footpath makes it almost possible to walk the entire length from Mont St Michel in the North to Saint Nazaire. Inland Brittany is less well trodden that its coast and the beautiful countryside is full of history, heritage and legends. Take time to explore the diverse landscapes of farmland, woodland, rivers, canals and lakes. St Malo - An old port with a walled town full of seafood restaurants, souvenir shops and pedestrian ramparts that offer fantastic views of the port and the miles of sandy beaches. Cancale - A small picturesque fishing town, famous for its oysters and seafood, plus there are some wonderful walks along rugged coastal paths. Mont St Michel - The 8th wonder of the world. A magnificent abbey perched on an island joined to the mainland by a causeway. The abbey stands above a village, which is full of shops and restaurants, it is spectacular at night. Rennes - The capital of Brittany, The beautiful 17th century Palais de Justice and medieval Place des Lices (Jousters Square) are well worth a visit for the half-timbered buildings. Dinan - A medieval stronghold overlooking the exceptional Vallée de la Rance, Dinan is undeniably one of the most exquisite cities of Brittany. Still entirely surrounded by its ramparts, it has belfries, churches, convents, timbered houses and narrow streets disclosing their secrets as you go along. Fougeres - Overlooking vast green countryside Fougeres has retained all of the grandeur of it's glorious past. The 12th century Chateau was an outpost of medieval Brittany and one of the biggest and best-preserved fortifications in Europe. Fougeres old town still contains wooden buildings and hosts of shops and restaurants. | |

| The ground floor of Plum Tree Cottage consists of an open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area, so Mum doesn't feel left out of the holiday and stuck in the kitchen.
The comfortable lounge/dining area has a log burner for the cooler months and great for Christmas bookings, some granite walls and exposed oak beams. The well equipped kitchen area has a door leading to a covered veranda. On the first floor has a shower room and 2 bedrooms, a large double bedroom and a bedroom with bunk beds; both rooms have granite walls and exposed oak beams. Plum Tree Cottage has a separate patio with garden furniture, sun canopy and a BBQ. There are two and a half acres of gardens with open views over undulating farmland. There is a private patio area for each cottage with garden furniture, seating, sun canopy and a BBQ. There is also a communal patio area which has a brick built BBQ, the ideal place for parents to get to know one another, while the kids play. We have had many an enjoyable evening with a BBQ and a few drinks. The heated above ground pool is made of teak to fit in with the surroundings in the orchard; it is 6x4 metres and 1.5 metres deep and is open from May - September. The gardens are the ideal place to relax by the pool, have a picnic under a tree, or just sit and read a good book while sipping a glass a wine. There is a 14ft trampoline with safety nets, badminton, swings, boules pit, swing ball, football net, and basketball in the gardens, along with numerous games. In the covered veranda area there is table soccer, table tennis and a darts board and lots of other toys. The gardens are large and safe enough for children to play, whilst we consider our accommodation to be child friendly, good parental supervision should be shown at all times. For the comfort of our future guests, smoking is permitted in designated areas/outdoor areas only. Just down the lane there is an 18 km Patrimoine walk through lovely countryside.
