| Kerarhun is situated on the edge of the village of St Jean du Doigt, near Morlaix, on the north coast of Finistère. Situated 2 minutes drive from the unspoilt sandy beach, St Jean du Doigt is a tranquil little village, 40 minutes from Roscoff. The ancient church of St Jean du Doigt with its famous fountain, dominates the village centre. This area of Brittany is relatively undiscovered as yet and has a beautiful rugged coastline with lots of hidden sandy coves.
We offer an ideal centre not only for family beach holidays but also for walking holidays, as we are within 30 minutes walk of the beautiful coastal path. During July and August a musical concert takes place every Tuesday evening in the village square of the neighbouring village of Plougasnou, featuring musicians from around the world. There are also numerous classical concerts which take place inside the church. Also, in Morlaix, a highly coulourful free Arts festival takes place in July and August which consists of theatrical events around the streets of Morlaix. For those of a sporty nature we can arrange horse-riding, sea-fishing, diving, tennis and if you wish to bring your boat we can arrange anchorage. For evening entertainment there are games and puzzles. | |

The property, Kerarhun, is an old Breton farmhouse surrounded by fields of maize and artichokes, yet only a short distance from the village centre where you will find a boulangerie/mini-market and a café. Kerarhun is an old Breton farmhouse dating from the early 1900s. The front door leads directly into a tiled open-plan kitchen/dining-area with the curving original wooden staircase leading up to the first floor directly opposite the front door. The kitchen is well-equipped with gas cooker, cafetière, fridge/freezer and matching cutlery and crockery. It has a table and benches to seat 10. Off the kitchen are the utility room (toilet and washing machine) and the lounge. The lounge is spacious, open-beamed and dominated by the original fireplace with stone mantlepiece and wood burning stove. On the first floor are a bathroom with shower, sink and WC and 2 bedrooms one with a four-poster double bed and one with a double bed and a single.We have kept the original wooden floors on the first floor but all bedrooms have rugs. In the attic are 2 further bedrooms - a twin and a bunk room sleeping 3. There is also a separate toilet and wash basin on this floor. This old Breton farmhouse sits in a garden enclosed by hedges.It has a parking area for 2/3 cars seperated from the garden by a grass bank and gate and has direct access onto the road. |
