| The hamlet of Terzo di Danciano is situated on the border between Tuscany and Umbria, more precisely near the village of Mercatale, under the city council of Cortona and in the Province of Arezzo.
Terzo di Danciano looks out onto the beautiful Niccone Valley, which takes its name from a tributary of the Tiber river, the Niccone stream. Ancient medieval castles follow one another all along the valley, reminders of a Longobardic age. The remains of an ancient roman road can also be seen here. In the surrounding area there are many good restaurants and trattorias, two of which serve organic food (one of these serves a weekend buffet style brunch which is much appreciated by international guests). | |

| Terzo di Danciano is a charming 1700 villa looking out onto the lovely valleys of Umbria and Tuscany.
The spacious, light and comfortable bedrooms in this eco B&B all have their own private bathroom and during the winter months they are centrally heated. The relaxing frescos and natural pigments used on the walls will positively influence your sleep and the quality of your stay. The price includes the use of the garden/ surrounding area and the swimming pool. Room cleaning on request (at a small extra charge) Laundry service available for groups staying for a minimum of one week. Families and groups of friends are welcome to use our summer kitchen - a fully fitted kitchen in the garden, next to the traditional wood burning oven. Here you can eat your meals at leisure round the large table, under the pergola. Our organic breakfast is served in the garden, under the pergola. During the cooler months it is served in the lounge area, where a large wood burning stove and a fireplace will make you feel nice and cosy. Here you’ll find a library and a comfortable sitting area. Two large French windows look out onto the woodland. On request a small catering service can be contacted for lunch/ dinner, using local cooks and traditional cuisine. TERZO DI DANCIANO The villa and its annex (once used as a laboratory for the silk worm trade) have been traditionally restored. We chose not to get rid of old floors, doors, staircases and beams. The large courtyard area in front of the house has been made using old building techniques. From an environmental point of view we have been careful not to waste but to preserve. This reflects the way we run our B&B. We are proud to say that our guests can fully enjoy their holiday with minimal environmental impact. The recycled rain-water system we have at Terzo di Danciano has enabled us to fill the swimming pool and water the lawn during the summer months. The pool is chlorine free. |
